David Baumgarten Kyo Sa began training in July 1994.  He became a Sam Dan or 3rd degree in October 2006.  He participated at the National Symposium in Korea in 2005.  He also made a visit to Korea for advanced training in the fall of 2008.  He is the senior student in Gunnison.

He is a Kyo Sa (certified teacher) and teaches classes in Gunnison and Crested Butte.  He is the chairman on the West Elk Soo Bahk Do Board of Directors.

Baumgarten Kyo Sa is the Gunnison County Attorney.  He is also a lifetime member of the Rocky Mountain Biological Laboratory and he volunteers with Gunnison County Partners.
