West Elk Soo Bahk Do was founded in 1992 by Sa Bom Nim Andy Tyzzer, who holds the rank of Fourth Dan and has been designated as Sa Bom, or Master Teacher, by the Korean Soo Bahk Do Association, Moo Duk Kwan. The school has a dynamic and motivated group of first through fourth level Dan Members that teach a variety of classes. Students at the red-belt level assist in teaching.
